We have a little discussion group that meets every Sunday night at Brady's Specialty Coffee--Brady was kind enough to give me a key so I can go in and actually make drinks for people who come and visit each week.
All total, probably 40 people or so have come, though week-to-week we usually have about 10 to 15 at tops. Some people are really regular, showing up every time (and returning to Brady's when I am not there!); others show up when they can.

The only thing that is guaranteed is that we'll all get great coffee drinks, and we will discuss something at least vaguely thought-provoking.

Matt can actually get the large Cappuccino spoon in his mouth. Pretty impressive!

Stacy and I took a bit over half of the day off on Friday, borrowed my dad's small trailer, and began moving trash, junk and treasures from our garage, our office, and in some other storage places. The goal? We were making room for our friends, Brandon, Kathy and Emily Davidson, to m
ove into our house with us!

That might sound crazy to some people, but it makes perfect sense, really. First off, Stacy and I try to be Christians, and some dear friends were about to have to move to Arkansas to restart their lives. Opening our home to the Davidsons is a simple act of love. Second, we really are not THAT crazy about the whole "American Dream" of getting and spending and providing for only ourselves. We are GREAT at getting and BETTER at spending, and WAY TOO GOOD at taking care of our little family above all others, but that all seems pointless.

Having a l
ittle community feels like the right start to something. I could go on and on.

Here's our garage on Saturday--this photo will have to count for two days, since those two days were equally consumed by moving, dumping and storing crapola!:

What does it mean that this photo shows our garage in an IMPROVED condition?! :o)
