Photo #6: June 24

It is Mission Week in Tyler, again, and even though the extent of me taking part in it this year has been eating lunch at St. Paul's UMC (see photo) and painting some trim in a room at the dental clinic we helped build six years ago, I am still amazed at the way people can show God's love to one another when they work together to help people who are less fortunate than they. IMHO, the BEST thing a person can do for his or her own mental and spiritual health is to find a place to serve, lovingly, and SERVE!

It is totally transforming. I have seen total jerks morph into the image of Christ through service (of course, I was looking in the mirror at the time).

Lunch at St. Paul's includes some singing, a devotional, site reports, and delicious food.

Mia (convincing me that she looks like "baby Mia") in her hijab, getting ready for bed.

Photo#4: Monday, June 22nd

One of the points behind this kind of photo project is to become a better photographer. My problem is that, in order to spontaneously capture a photo every day (though I missed Father's day--I took photos with a film camera, so I have to wait to get one back in the f
uture) I use my old 2G iPhone's camera. I doubt my shots will ever get any awards! Regardless, here's Monday's photo:

Tongue required for concentration!

Mia was watching Everyone's Hero, a baseball cartoon that I really didn't think she'd go for. But, in the tradition of making your parents into fools, she absolutely LOVED the movie! So, I stole into her room and snapped this photo while she stared transfixed, between squeals and giggles.

I love that girl a lot!

Photo Number Three: Saturday, June 20

Saturday was surreal. There was a period of extreme laziness early in the day (no, I did not mow the lawn). Then, I went to the Davidsons' house for the garage sale. Then, I ran home and got cleaned up to go to Stacy's parents' house to visit and to spend a little time with Kelly.

Photo #3 is Kelly loving up her daddy on the day before Fathers' Day.

Little girls grow up to be big girls, but both know how to melt their daddies' hearts!
